Brendan Kelly

Hello,

If you're reading this, then you already know...

...a lot of things. But mainly, that my name is Brendan Kelly. Here are the facts, punk:

1) I am the host of Feed the Gods metalcore and deathcore radio. It airs every Humpday (Wednesday, to the layman), between the hours of Six (6) and Eight (8) PM - after the cock croweth six times, but before he croweth nine times - for nine is too many. It includes all of the best (and not coincidentally my favorite) metalcore, deathcore, and melodic death metal. You're likely to hear from artists such as All Shall Perish, The Black Dahlia Murder, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Woe of Tyrants, and Lamb of God on pretty much a weekly basis.

2) I have a plethora of musical interests. At one point I played the drums and, in high school, played in a local Connecticut (The Constitution State) band known as The Evening Edition but revered as The "Better Than Led Zeppelin" Evening Edition. We played several local venues including but not limited to The Trackside, The Empress Ballroom, and Hartford's The Webster Theater. Connecticut is also known as the Nutmeg State, for reasons that are, quite truthfully, unknown to many.

C) But probably to some. My music taste is wide and incorporates and encompasses many "genres" though I do not "believe" in the "labeling" music into "genres." Some of my "favorite" artists include All Shall Perish, Pink Floyd, Third Eye Blind, Eisley, Rilo Kiley, The Beatles, Circa Survive, Underoath, Coheed and Cambria, and the Saosin that wrote, performed, and meticulously constructed the EP known as Translating The Name, (NOT the other Saosin [although I do enjoy their music, too {just not enough to include them in my list of "favorite" "artists"}]). I do also appreciate live music, though what I love about metal ("my favorite genre") is the attention that is paid to very carefully constructed and written songs - additionally I don't mind and often appreciate the metal growls and screams.

Misc. Info.) I am a senior English major from Newtown, CT. I someday hope to be a published writer - more specifically, a novelist - more specifically, the novelist who wrote the Great American Novel. I am also very interested in film. My favorite film is a toss up among a number of films, but my favorite novel is A Clockwork Orange, "fo' sho" (as the kids are saying these days) - the movie is also good. I recently spent five months living in South Africa and, because of this, am now planning to spend a lot of time abroad in the future.
